Jesus, the Master Teacher of all time, had a beautiful way of "driving the point home" by use of repetition. We may not get it the first time, but by the time He finished making His point, anyone who missed the point was either asleep or in total denial or overt rebellion. Let us pray that we neve "miss it" when He speaks. Let us pray that our hearts remain open to always receive His truth and then willingly, joyfully obey, for therein lies the basis of the Kingdom of God - "righeousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Romans 14:17b).
We cannot experience this tri-fold blessed state of being if we are filled with anxiety, fear and worry. Listen to the Master with me, please: "Therefore, I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; not about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds thm. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neithr toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble" (Matthew 6:25-34 emphasis added).
If you like some icing on your cake, let's enjoy the instruction and declaration of Paul the Apostle. He told the believers, "Be anxious for nothing, but by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7, emphasis added). "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). Hallelujah!
Beloved, may the Peace of God, the Love of Christ Jesus, and the Joy of the Holy Spirit be yours this day as we walk together, hand-in-hand with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords!
Amen!
